Repeat Impressions Stamp of the Week - Raccoon

How about a new Stamp of the Week from Repeat Impressions? OK:) This week's stamp is Raccoon, found on this page. Isn't he a cutie? This stamp is available through Sunday evening for half price. Please visit the Repeat Impressions blog, The House That Stamps Built, for all the details and the necessary code. You will also find the creations by the Rock Stars there. Or, you can follow these links to their blogs:
Dawn ~Joy ~ Kecia

For my card, I stamped the raccoon on a piece of white cardstock. I cut a rectangle around him, but cut the tail to extend over the edge. I added the sentiment and drew a black frame around the edge. I matted with black. The sentiment is from Repeat Impressions, also.

My "Usual" Bridal Shower Card

The two daughters of some friends of ours are getting married in September and October. They are having a combined bridal shower today and I needed a couple quick cards for them. I thought that I would just make cards similar to a couple I've made in the past. I started with wedding stickers from Mary Engelbreit. I used Nestabilities to cut mats from white and shimmery silver and mounted them on foam squares. I stamped the "happy day" (from Papertrey Ink) on the white layer and then embossed with a Swiss Dots embossing folder from Cuttlebug. I matted that layer with the shimmery silver and used a white card base. I am finished posting the cards I made about a month ago and have to start making more if I am going to be sharing new things with you all:) I do have my Repeat Impressions cards done through the end of the month of August, though. All my other birthday and anniversary cards, too. That's a good feeling! You will be seeing them on Mondays and Wednesdays. There are some great challenges coming up!

Two Cards - Same Basic Layout

These cards were both made with a layout that just appeared in my head:) They turned out pretty much how I had envisioned them. That rarely happens for me - usually my cards "evolve" rather than being planned out.

Both cards use "inchie" stamps from Inkadinkado. Both image panels are mounted on foam squares. The sentiment on this first one is from Papertrey Ink.
The sentiment on this second card is from Inkadinkado. You can't tell by the picture, but the flowers are sparkly.

These are still from cards that I made about a month ago. I did get a little chance for stamping yesterday and I got my June 2013 calendar pages done. That's means I'm still caught up with my goal to do the calendar page for next year during the corresponding month this year. I have a slight idea for July, so hopefully I'll get a chance to get that page done soon, too. My Christmas cards have been lagging, but at least I have a good start on them - I may be about half done or more. Yippee! Does anyone else have goals set? I don't usually, but I'm still determined to be prepared for Christmas this year and not have it sneak up on me yet again.

Repeat Impressions - WHAT IF? Wednesday

Today starts a new Repeat Impressions WHAT IF? Wednesday sketch challenge. Wendy gives us the sketch and we do our crafting. We invite you to play along for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate. Simply create your cards based on the sketch (above), upload to your blog or an on-line gallery, and link it up to the Repeat Impressions blog. Or you can find their blogs by following these links:

For my card, I used the Pine Branch, found on this page. I colored it with Copic markers. I used a Stampin' Up! punch for the corners. The cardinal and the sentiment are parts of a stamp called "Merry ... Happy..." and is found on this page. I added red pearls to complete my card based on the sketch. The card base and the image panel are ivory colored.

Simple Sunflower Birthday

A simple birthday card to share with you today. The background stamp is from a Hero Arts set and is stamped in brown. The sunflower (from Papertrey Ink) is stamped over it. That's it! :)

Wonderful Day

Another card that's been finished for quite a while. I'm pretty sure the stamp is from Inkadinkado, but I forgot to double check. Sorry. Very simply done - just the way I like it:) I stamped the image, added a little color with markers, used a Nestability to emboss the frame, matted with Pale Plum cardstock from Stampin' Up, punched a little butterfly with a Martha Stewart punch and added a tiny pearl for the butterfly body. Hopefully it will cheer someone up.

We're continuing to look for a townhome to move to, but not having any luck. I have a feeling that once we find something, however, things will move very quickly. Hopefully that day will come soon.

"Christmas Sunday" - Finally!

I finally have another Christmas card to share with you. I just haven't had the time to make any. Granted, this one didn't take much time, but it sure felt good to make one:)

I used Stampin' Up!'s Soft Sky to brayer on the Cuttlebug folder before embossing. The sentiment is from an Inkadinkado set. I matted with Soft Sky, also. I am entering this into the Christmas Card Challenge blog. The theme this week is to make a window card, but the basic challenge is to just make a Christmas card.
I also wanted to thank Shoshi for the blog award she has bestowed upon me. It's the "Versatile Blogger" award. Thanks so much, Shoshi! Shoshi's blog is certainly versatile. She is one extremely talented person who does so many things very, very well. I appreciate the honor. I just don't have time to fulfill the "requirements" of the award, but it's cool to be mentioned.

Same Card - Different Colors

Two more cards that I made in June. I think I may still have a couple more, but I better start taking some time for stamping again! These cards were both made with items that Harriet had at my house. The poppies were cut with a die by Memory Box. The embossing was done with a folder from Cuttlebug. For this first one, I made it with colors. The pieces were inset into the card - I cut the die out of the embossed piece.
And this one done in black and white. The sentiment is from Papertrey and is mounted on foam squares.

Masculine Birthday

I made this card when my friend Harriet was here in June, after our Group Gathering. I used her Memory Box die. I liked this simple card so much that I made five of them! I'm sending them to the guys on my birthday list for July and August.

The card base is vanilla. The embossing was all done with one folder, by Crafts Too. It was a gift to me (and all the members of the group that were there) from Andrea. The matting is black.

Green and Purple Birthdays

Another set of cards using the same main image. I inked the image up with markers, stamped it once, and then stamped it again without reinking it for the second card. The matting is from a pad from Recollections. I stamped the images and this sentiment while in Des Moines at our Group Gathering and I'm sorry to say I don't know what company they are from. I added pearls for the flower centers.
The sentiment on this card is from Papertrey Ink.

Repeat Impressions - Designer's Choice Challenge

Time for a new Designer's Choice Challenge from Repeat Impressions. Today's challenge was chosen by Makiko and it's "Outdoors and/or Wildlife."  My card is sort of a stretch, but you certainly can't ride your motorcycle indoors and the sentiment talks about being "wild" so I think I've got it covered! LOL! One random winner for the month will receive their choice of a full sheet of unmounted rubber - an awesome prize! Please visit the Repeat Impressions blog, The House That Stamps Built, for all the details and for the Rock Stars' creations. Or, you can follow these links to the Design Team members' blogs:
Cheri ~ Dawn ~Joy ~ Karen ~ Kecia ~ Maki ~ Patti

The stamps I used are both from Repeat Impressions, of course, and are a part of one of the new releases. You can find them on this page. I used Memories Soft Silver ink for the motorcycle. I used shimmery silver paper for the matting. I embossed it with a Cuttlebug folder and cut the oval out of it. The sentiment is matted with the same silver and is mounted on Pop Dots.

You still have almost a week to participate in the latest WHAT IF? Wednesday challenge, too. The details are in this post. Good luck!

Sympathy Flowers

Here are three sympathy cards, all done with the same set from Gina K. They are all made with Stampin' Up!'s Very Vanilla cardstock. They were colored with various markers - some Copic and some BIC. I added some doodling to this one.
This one has some scoring, done with a Scor-Pal.
The patterned paper for this one is from Recollections.

I stamped the Beach Time image on my cardstock, then masked the image and stamped the sand castle (found here.) I paper-pieced her bathing suit and colored the rest of the scene with Copic markers. The sentiment is from Repeat Impressions, also, of course.

You might want to check out the RI blog for the current challenges and opportunities to win stamps!

Birthday Flowers

I don't think I've posted this card. If I have, I apologize. And I'm sorry to say, I have no Christmas card again:( Hopefully I will soon. Life has been getting in they way. :)

The flower stamps are from a Verve set. I added pearls to the flower centers. The butterflies were punched with a Martha Stewart punch, and I added pearls to them, too. The sentiment is from Stampendous. The scoring was done with a Scor-Pal. The image panel is mounted on foam squares.

Happy Birthday, Joyce!

I can't tell you much about this card - sorry. I used stamps that Harriet brought with her in June. It's for my friend, Joyce, whose birthday is today. Happy Birthday, Joyce!!

Same Die - Different Cards

Isn't this a great die? Harriet brought it from California with her and I used it while she was here. Gosh, that seems like a long time ago, already. I guess it was four weeks ago! That means only 48 weeks til she comes back:)
I believe the die is by Memory Box. I used black for it on the first card and Kraft on the second. Everything is pretty self-explanatory. The sentiment on the first card is from Papertrey Ink and the one on the second card is from Verve.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

Repeat Impressions WHAT IF? Wednesday

Time for a new WHAT IF? Wednesday sketch challenge from Repeat Impressions. Wendy gives us a sketch and asks to see what we can come up with. We'd sure love to have you join us! You can find the sketch and all the details on the Repeat Impressions blog, The House That Stamps Built. You will also find the amazing creations by the other Rock Stars. Or, you can follow these links to their blogs:
Cheri ~ Dawn ~Joy ~ Karen ~ Kecia ~ Maki ~ Patti

For my card, I used the Contented Cat stamp, found on this page. I colored her with Copic markers and cut her out with a circle Nestability. The matting layer was also cut with a Nestability. The sentiment is from Repeat Impressions, and can be found on the same page as the cat. I punched the corners with a Fiskars punch and embossed the top with a Sizzix embossing folder. I added some ribbon and matting. The image is mounted on Pop Dots. The matting layers are Perfect Plum and Pale Plum from Stampin' Up!

You still have nearly a week to participate in the current Designer's Choice Challenge (which was chosen by me!) to use purple and greens. You could win yourself a full sheet of unmounted rubber by joining in!

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

Birthday Flower

Another stampoff from my Group Gathering. I don't remember who made the stamp - sorry! I guess I really should write them down when I use them.

I colored the flower with Copic markers. I cut the mat from Papertrey Ink's New Leaf cardstock with a Fleur de Lis Nestability. I added a thin black mat and some ribbon from Papertrey.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

Ducky Birthday

I have another Inky Antics birthday card to share with you today. I think it's pretty similar to one I shared a little while ago, but this one has a little "surprise" inside.

I stamped the image on white and also on different colors of patterned paper. I paper-pieced the flower, stem and duck and colored the dots on the flower, the beak and feet. I matted with black, and also used the purple patterned paper on the card base. I stamped the other image on the inside of the card, positioning the stem so that I could cut the tulip from the honeycomb paper and have it open up. I paper-pieced the duck and stem on the inside, also.

Happy Anniversary, Vicki and Gary!

A friend from my stamping group has her anniversary on the Fourth of July. This is the card I sent this year. Happy Anniversary again, Vicki! (It's 4.25 x 4.25 inches.)

The dragonfly is one that I believe I got from Andrea a couple years ago. It has dimension and sparkle. I added a little trail of black gems. The beautiful sentiment is from PSX. (No longer in business.) The frame is cut from Vintage Violet (from Stampin' Up!) using a Nestability, with an added layer of black. This Nestability was going to go back to Micheael's because I could NOT get the cardstock out after cutting it - no way, no how! But someone in my group forwarded a tip about using waxed paper over the cardstock. Voila! Now I can keep it! I tried parchment paper, too, and that also worked. Plus, if you use parchment paper, you get an extra piece you can use - rather like vellum.

Black and White Wedding

This is another "card parts" card. In my box was this stair-step card base. I had mis-cut it and one of the sides was wider than the other. I just cut the wider end down to make them even. So, this card is not quite "normal" size - but close.

The patterned paper is from a pad from The Paper Studio. The stamps are from Inkadinkado. The flower is from Prima. A rather elegant card, I think.

May You Have ...

Two more cards that I mostly made while at my Group Gathering. Told you I had a fun and productive time!
The stamps are both from a Close to My Heart set that Georgia brought. Thanks, Georgia! I colored the flowers with markers before stamping. On the first one, I scored lines on the sides. For the second one, I used a Cuttlebug border folder and then scored lines beside te embossing.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

Repeat Impressions Designer's Choice Challenge - Purple and Green

Today's Designer's Choice Challenge from Repeat Impressions was chosen by me! It has nothing to do with Independence Day, but I hope everyone in the US is enjoying their holiday. The challenge is to make a card or project using the colors green and purple. You can find all the details on the Repeat Impressions blog, The House That Stamps Built. One random winner for the  month will win a full sheet of unmounted rubber of their choice. You can find the wonderful creations by the Rock Stars on the blog, too. Or you can follow these links to their blogs:
Cheri ~ Dawn ~Joy ~ Karen ~ Kecia ~ Maki ~ Patti

I used a stamp from the new series called Beautiful Days. The stamp I used is called Hydrangea. You can find it, along with the other new stamps on this page. I paper-pieced the flowers and the leaves. I colored the stem and the bee. I added some Stickles to the little bee's wings. The papers are from my favorite Recollections matstack.

You still have nearly a week to participate in the latest WHAT IF? Wednesday sketch challenge, too, for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

Purple and Orange Thanks

A simple thank you card for today.

The background text is from a set by Hero Arts. I stamped it in Almost Amethyst from Stampin' Up. I stamped the butterfly (from a Hampton Arts set) in Tangerine Tango. The matting and thin strip are also Tangerine Tango. I punched the top of the matting with a Martha Stewart border punch.

Repeat Impressions Stamp of the Week - Here's To You

This week's Stamp of the Week from Repeat Impressions is "Here's to You." You can find it on this page. (Wendy has lots more patriotic stamps on that page, too.) For this week only (through Sunday evening) it's available at 50% off. You can find all the details on the Repeat Impressions blog, The House That Stamps Built. You will also find the Rock Stars' creations there. Or, you can follow these links to their blogs:
Dawn ~Joy ~ Karen ~ Kecia

I stamped the sentiment on white cardstock and then cut it out with a Spellbinders die. I mounted on foam squares. The star was cut with a Quickutz die. It has a thin border of solid blue. The papers are all from the very first matstack I bought (from Die Cuts With a View) about ten years ago!

There are two current challenges from Repeat Impressions that are open to new entries. One is the Designer's Choice Challenge (Head for the Beach, found here) for a chance to win a full sheet of unmounted rubber of your choice, and the WHAT IF? Wednesday sketch challenge (found here) for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to Repeat Impressions. What are you waiting for? :)

July Calendar Page

Here is this month's calendar page. Can you believe the year is half over already?? I sure can't!

The four stamps I used on this page are Studio G - dollar stamp sets from Micheal's. If you are interested in my calendar files, you can find a link at the top of this page. I'd love to hear from you if you use them.
